Description : ‘HT trait donor rice genotype technology’, developed by the scientists of ICAR-IARI, New Delhi was transferred to M/s Nuziveedu Seed Ltd., on 04th January, 2023 facilitated by Agrinnovate India Ltd. (AgIn) at NASC, New Delhi. The event was graced by Dr. AK Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, Dr. Praveen Malik, CEO, Agrinnovate India Ltd., Dr. Viswanathan Chinnusamy, JD(R) and representatives of commercial firms, other officials from ICAR and AgIn. Dr. AK Singh explained regarding the development of non-GM herbicide tolerant rice genotype possessing tolerance to Imazethapyr 10% SL (100g a.i.), using an Ethyl Methane Sulphonate induced herbicide tolerant rice mutant and also commended Agrinnovate India limited (AgIn) for the efforts in transfer of technology to industry. The technology will contribute significantly towards increasing farmers income by reducing the economic/ yield loss caused due to weeds and will also broaden the compatible herbicide spectrum in rice.
